It is often said that to truly experience Paris, with it's iconic sites and historical architecture, as well as its covered passages and hidden gems, it is necessary to go on foot...

Even better is to walk with a local.....

Our good friend Jenny recalls a recent meander through Paris with her daughter, Jess, who is a (very lucky) long term resident. This time they stroll from the 18th to the 7th arrondissement which looks to be just bursting with colour and life!

Starting at the edge of the 18th, Sacre-Coeur towering above, walk into the vibrancy of the 9th - a colourful district with street cafes & lush flower shops on every corner.

Crossing the 2nd takes you through the City’s Passages Convert, time-warp galleries of vintage shops evocative of another era. Now in the 1st, wander through the charming gardens of the Palais Royal, balance on the Colonnes de Buren, black and white pillars famed by social media.

Meander along the right bank, a UNESCO world heritage site of historical & architectural landmarks. Make your way across the Pont Alexander III onto the left bank and into the 7th. Here you will find Les Invalides, home of Napoleon’s tomb and marvel at the Aura, a night-time immersive inside the Dome.

What a lovely snapshot! Thank you Jenny and Jess. It's fair to say you've got us well and truly in the mood for a visit for a visit to the City of Light....
